Letter from the President - Jennifer Vrana
Image Greetings,
We are now only 2 months away from rodeo!! Time has flown by. Our team of volunteers has been working around the clock trying to produce an unbelievable rodeo. We were just at Devon this past Sunday with a walk thru and everything is falling into place. I want to personally thank our rodeo Directors Tom and Jeff for all of their hard work. If you see them out give them a big howdy and a thank you for making this happen.
As it gets closer we will have bar nights all over the tri-state area. We will have tickets on hand at a variety of events as well as online ticket sales. Please check out our web site for all ticketing information.

I had received multiple requests for putting on a rodeo school before the Liberty Stampede. There WILL be a school 3 weeks before our rodeo. The school is being run by our sister rodeo association ASGRA and will be held outside of Harrisburg PA. Prices are $125 for the weekend or $70 per day.
They will have calf roping, chute doggin and steer riding instruction.
LGRA will secure a block of rooms at a local hotel. More information will be available soon at www.asgra.org If you are interested in attending please get hold of me also for the room information and also car pooling from Philadelphia and our surrounding region.

Let's get ready to RODEO!!!

Ernie Bowers - Trustee, LGRA
Hello everybody! We're down to the wire, there's only about two months left to the inaugural Liberty Stampede! I'd like to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm, and also I would like to make a callout for volunteers. If you'd like to give a helping hand in any way, our website has a handy-dandy volunteer page to let us know you're interested. Also you can approach any of us otherwise (Chris Maurizio especially, being our very capable volunteer coordinator). From volunteering for rodeos previously, I can attest that it's an exciting and rewarding experience.
I am very proud to be part of this rodeo, and I also am proud of our association with the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund to help find the first recipients of grant money made from this years Stampede. To be able to give back to the GLBT community is the foremost goal of ours. In order to help be able to do this, LGRA is still seeking out sponsorships and advertisements for our program. The website has more information, but whether you work for (or own) a company that would like to partner with LGRA for Liberty Stampede, and even an individual that would like to place an ad or sponsor one of our buckles, any help will help us attain our goal of raising money for very worthy charities for our area. Please help if you can, and by all means, keep May 9-11 open on your calendar for the best show in Devon!
And as a last note, if you're planning on traveling to any of the other rodeos in the IGRA circuit, and need any more info or to reach out to anyone else going, drop me a line at trustee@liberty.org and I will try to help as much as I can.
Cowboy up!

Tom Dykes - Rodeo Director
Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is getting excited about the up coming Liberty Stampede on May 9-11. The Rodeo will be held at the Devon Horse Show grounds in Devon, Pennsylvania. This is a great venue and easy to get to. If you are coming from Philadelphia, you can take the R-5 train. You can get on in Center City, Get off in Devon and the Rodeo Grounds are just a block away across Route 30.

There will be lots of fun and excitement at the rodeo. And let's not forget our evening Dances at the Loews Hotel, 12th and Market Sts., just blocks from the GAYBORHOOD.

We are looking for people who would be willing to volunteer at the rodeo or the dances. If you can spare a couple of hours to help out the organization we would greatly appreciate it. If you would like more information, please check out the web site for the Rodeo or contact any of the Board members.

Let's have a Great Rodeo and show the rest of the country that PHILLY knows how to throw a Great RODEO and a GREAT PARTY.

Social Entertainment - Tom Dykes
Social Entertainment- I'd like to thank everyone who came out on February 16th and made our Cupid's Corral Dance a success. Everyone had a fun time dancing and catching up with friends old and new. On a personal note I'd like to thank Tom Conway for hosting the evening. I was away for most of the day in Harrisburg taking classes for work and Tom graciously took over for me and did a great job. Tom, THANK YOU.

Please check out the web site for up dates on where members of the association will be selling Weekend Passes to the Liberty Stampede. Also, you can purchase your passes online at LibertyStampede.com

We are in the process of working with the staff at Woody's to have LGRA night a few times throughout the year. We will keep you posted.

Volunteer News - Chris Maurizio
Two Months and Counting!

Howdy everyone! Just got back from Las Vegas where I attended IGRA University. I took several classes that I got so much out of. I ran into some folks that I met at Convention in Kansas City and met some new ones. People are actually rearranging their schedules so they can attend the Liberty Stampede 2008, this includes the president of the Toronto Association (CCGRA - http//http://www.ccgra.ca). This being the first rodeo I've had anything to do with other than attend I have the usual butterflies in the stomach, however, the excitement that comes along with that is unbelievable, especially when you talk to people from around the country AND Canada that are excited to be attending. If you want to be a part of this historical event you can be one of our volunteers by filling out our volunteer application on our website at http://www.LibertyStampede.com. Hope to see you soon but I definitely want to see you on the weekend of May 9 - 11, 2008!!!!
