TrusteeHowdy Ladies and Gents, Not a lot going on in this area. Since our last meeting, Florida has had their rodeo with 86 contestants. And since I could not make it, I sent my older sister to be my alternate Trustee to step in - Jeremy Snidow. So thanks for that! Remember we still have Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Oklahoma City rodeos coming up!!! I will be attending the Las Vegas and Oklahoma City Rodeos with my horses. People that are going to Palm Springs, please let me know. Thanks,
Rodeo DirectorRodeo Director duties are still being completed, as they come up. I have received the commemorative buckles that are for sale, and they look great!!! The buckles are $100 plus any shipping cost, and will be available in the online store soon!!! So, check the CGRA website to purchase your 30 year anniversary buckle!!! CGRA will be doing a chance drawing for the Bud Light Cruiser bicycle, those chance drawing tickets will be available soon. I'm asking CGRA members to be involved, help sell the chance drawing tickets. Be watching for more information to be coming. I have a nice trailer being donated for the Barn Manager to reside during rodeo week, thank you to "What 'Ya Want Done Inc." for stepping up and helping out in our need, saving CGRA $500 in renting a trailer for Ms. Patrick accommodations!!!! I want to let everyone know that my work schedule has become very hectic, which has prevented me from being able to attend many of the fund raising functions that have been on going. I want to apologize for my absence at the shows, gymkhanas, and some meetings, but duty calls. I want to extend a personal thank you to the 2012 CGRA Royalty Team for their tireless efforts, they do not go unnoticed. A personal thank you to Ken Pool for his efforts with the Wayne Jakino Scholarship Fund, and bringing the Snow Queen competition back to a great fun filled event. As a past reigning Snow Queen, that was an event that was heart breaking to have missed. Mary Munger

RoyaltyMr. CGRA 2012: As Mr. CGRA 2012, I have a fund raiser scheduled in Colorado Springs at the Underground Bar. It will be starting at 7:30 pm on May 5th. We will be having a mini rodeo on their patio! I will be sending out email's as a reminder every other day. If you need a ride to the Springs show up at Charlies at 5:30 pm and plan on staying all night!!! There is a hotel a block away. We will return Sunday morning. Fun, fun, fun!!! Other events are also in to the works with all proceeds going toward Mr. CGRA 2012 charity partner - the Colorado Horse Protection League. Thanks, RoyaltyHowdy Rodeo brothers and sisters, I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful spring so far. I have to tell ya'll that those who showed up for donkey basketball sure had a great time. I, myself, was too heavy to ride so I played center on foot. It was lots of fun dodging the off-and-running donkeys, they don't reign, so you can imagine the chaos. The donkeys know to run from end to end, but they don't know they have to stop so you could make a basket, too funny. Lots of riders falling off, going head over heels, or head over tails. They had to be on a donkey to shoot a basket, then we the centers had to run down and throw the ball back into play. There was great food, thanks to all the ladies working (volunteers) there to make sure everyone had something great to eat, pulled pork, hot dogs, nacho's, etc. thanks ladies. Now for my news. Don't forget the Classic Country Beer Bust 7pm and Show 8pm on May 19th @ Charlie's Denver. This will be Katrina St. Andrews' show to raise money in order to become a contestant for Miss CGRA 2013, and for my charity which is the American Cancer Society. I gave her free reign to call out all the big guns, the best performers she knows, so we have a great show planned. The Men of Charlie's will be going around with Jell-O shots (yum) and of course a raffle, so bring lots of friends and party with us. Then I have the Pavilion reserved at Barr Lake in Brighton Colo. On June 9th. I know that there is a lot of different events going on but I am hoping that everyone will take some time out from 9am- 4pm and come out to support me and my charity (American Cancer Society) & CGRA. I have a bar-b-que and trail ride scheduled for that day. We will also have a friend of Scott A out from Fort Morgan and his family will bring their draft horses and hay wagon (with seats) to give rides to anyone who wants. We will also have volley ball and horse shoes set up. The food will be pulled pork and hamburgers and all the fixings. I will have soda and water. I will have my ghetto blaster there and it plays cd's and cassette tapes. Sorry but alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Please come out and show your support and have a great time with friends and families. So get the word out so we have a good turn-out. John Kingston said he would flip burgers, I sure hope that's all he flips. LOL - Luv ya John. I will be going to Las Vegas rodeo and every time I go to a rodeo I will be working on completing my chute coordinator program. This trip my wife will be going along and then 2 weeks later I hope to be in Oklahoma for their rodeo. Then I have to take time out to take care of my father, he has been in a rehab center for about a month. He had fallen and couldn't move for 4 days (on the cold garage floor in MO). My family has been having lots of medical issues going on, I keep Rich informed. I just lost my uncle, and his wife has stomach cancer and she is dying. And I am not sure yet if we have to put my dad in a home or what. So please remind me if there is someplace I need to be for CGRA. OK - thanks gang. Be safe and have a great summer. Paula Scougal Hey Cowboys and Cowgirls, I would like to introduce myself, I am Stephen C. Grimes Jr and I will be sashed as a contestant for Mr. CGRA 2013 on May 18th during the membership meeting. The reason I am running for the title this year is because I want to get our message out to different community organizations and have us all work together. We are all working for basically the same cause which is to raise money for the different charities in our community. We should not be separated by petty issues. I am an Air Force brat so I grew up all over the place; however, my parents ensured that their family values stuck. I grew up in Europe for a while then my dad got stationed in none other than Las Vegas. After five years I realized that I too was destined for military service. I joined the Marines at the age of 17, stepped out my childhood home and haven't looked back since. Believe me I have been knocked down more times than I can count; however, I dust myself off and get back up all over again. Do I have a past? Yes I do but I have no regrets. My goal, not only as a contestant but should I receive a title, will be to gather the community as one and work together as it was done in the past. It's only by learning from our past that we can move forward into the future. I want to personally thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support. Let's Ride With Pride Stephen C. Grimes, Jr. Howdy there, folks! I was asked to write an article introducing myself to you all so I thought I would take a moment and let you all know who Miss Eryn is. I have been in the FUN-draising community in some aspect for just about 20 years, I have held many titles successfully, sat on governing bodies and won two contests in the State of Colorado which have produced International Title Holders. I started my title career as Ms Lone Star 1999, spent many years with ICRME and am proudly a permanent title holder in their college of Cardinals (which is somewhat equivalent to a Lifetime Member in CGRA), was Ms CGRA 1st Runner Up 2008, and in July begin my 10 year Anniversary as Ms Gay Pride of All Colorado 2002-2003. Makes me realize how time flies when we are all having FUN!!! I found a new place to have FUN with the rodeo and fell in love with the Chute Crew, it is a lot of hard work, but the day flies by!!! I am a hard working individual who is known for keeping my word and doing what I say...although I at times may stretch myself a little thin....but don't we all....I enjoy FUN-draising for community charities, and am not afraid to get my hands and elbows dirty as the founder of "Getting Dirty on the Horizon", a Community Service Program and also as the Volunteer Coordinator for Horizon House Parking at RMRR 29 and RMRR 30. That pretty much briefly covers my Community Service FUN-draising Career in a very small nutshell.... As always....Here to have FUN and working hard to make things better!!! Miss Eryn
