Thank you for volunteering to transcribe one or more items for this site.

By making transcripts available, the articles can be indexed by Internet search engines which will greatly expand the usefulness and accessibility of this site.

We are looking for transcriptions of program dedications, grand marshal pages, in memorial pages, along with newspaper and magazine articles. Items which are unique to that publication and are unlikely to be duplicated elsewhere.

At the current point, which programs or articles to select for transcription is pretty much up to you, as we have so few done so far. It might be good to start with your own association's programs. Just check first to make sure your particular selection hasn't already been transcribed. Transcriptions are shown at the end of the article.

You may use just about any word processing software which can be read using a PC, such as Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, or even just typing it into your email program. If you use a word processor just attach your document to an e-mail and send it to me at [an error occurred while processing this directive].

If the text on the website is too small or difficult to read, the original high resolution scans are available. Just contact me at the above address for easy access.

Transcript Requirements

Without this information we can't use your work

  1. The page filename where the article starts.
Filenames look something like this, 1987-asgra-03.jpg. The number just to the left of the dot is the page filename which is not necessarily the same page number printed in the program. We always count the front cover as page 01, and go from there, no matter how the program pages are numbered in print. Right clicking on an image and choosing properties will give you the file name.
  2. The date you submit your transcription.
  3. Your real name.
We will be giving you credit for your work. If you would rather have an alias displayed, please state so under your real name and indicate how you want your name shown.
  4. Your e-mail address on any attachment.
Attachments will be separated from your email message, so this is very important in case we need to contact you. Your email address will not be posted online.
  5. Use basic formatting only. Double space paragraph breaks.
The only page formatting you need to include are paragraph breaks and bolded words. All other formatting will be wiped out when your transcript is posted. Do not bother with columns or page breaks.
  6. Please check spelling.
What you send us is what goes on the final page.

Thank you very much for your help.
