RMRR 30 Photos Frank Harrell A note from John KingTO: The CGRA Board and All Members SUBJECT: Commemorative 30 Year Buckle I thought the way you handled the church services and the Rodeo remembrances for Ty Teigen were appropriate and tasteful. The "Top Hand" poem brought me to wet eyes. Any deceased "gay rodeo junkie" would have to be touched. When I finished my Rodeo Review Board duties, I thought my part of the Rodeo was done so I headed for Charlie’s to tip a few. When my staff delivered the 30 year buckle presented to me by CGRA, I was pleased, honored and humbled. As a founder and former mover and shaker, it means a lot to be recognized by your peers. Thanks, I will wear it with pride! John A King PresidentGood Morning CGRA Members, I know most of you are thinking about the song with that subject title. Yeah that one, Come on in. Baby take your clothes off. Come on in. But that's not what I meant at all. What I'm trying to say is that it's Election time. The deadline for you to have your name printed on the ballot for our upcoming Board of Directors elections is tomorrow, Friday July 27th. So 'Come On In'. This year's elections are shaping up to be very exciting. If you are still sitting on the sidelines and telling yourself that Damn't I want to get involved. Today is your lucky day cause you still can. Oh it's not the end if you don't get your name on the ballot cause nominations will remain open til the next meeting. However, a good number of our members do mail in ballots and they'll never even know about you. So if you think those 18.4% of our members, who live out of state, are gonna hop in their cars or trucks to come to Colorado to vote for your happy ads you may want to re-think that strategy. Let 'em know your serious about running for office and get your name on the ballot. It's easy enough to do. Simply go to our website, CGRA.ws click on forms, fill out the application for office and then scan the document back to secretarial. The easiest part of getting elected is the application. The rest is up to you and your campaign. I will have CD send out an updated list of applications and positions that we have received thus far so that you can make an informed decision on where your expertise and services are best utilized in the continued success of the Colorado Gay Rodeo Association. If your not happy with some of the choices that are running for office then I ask you to consider adding your name. This is a great opportunity for you to help in the direction of CGRA and all the things we, as an organization, do within the community. Get involved! Let's Ride Vice PresidentHello from down south in the Springs! I hope this finds all of you enjoying your summer and not suffering too much from this heat! I know my swamp cooler has been pretty much running every day to keep my house cool. I want to send a huge thank you to all of you that came out to RMRR 30 and were spectators, competitors, volunteers or vendors! What an incredible weekend we had and I just have to say, I believe it was a success! Everyone I spoke to were having a great time, I don't think I heard one negative thing said! Now that makes me very happy! Now that Rodeo weekend is over, the Royalty Team is mobbing ahead with their fundraising activities and getting ready to compete at the IGRA Royalty Competition coming up during IGRA Finals in October. With that said, please mark your calendars for Saturday, August 11, 2012. We will be hosting a fundraiser show to raise their IGRA requirement in order to compete at the IGRA Royalty Competition. The show will be at Charlie's Denver. The beer bust will start at 7pm and the show will start promptly at 8pm. I am asking our past CGRA and IGRA Royalty team members to come out and show support for these individuals and help them get their requirements met. If you would like to perform, please let me know and I will schedule you in the show. And to our membership as well, please come out and support this team that has been supporting CGRA all year. All performers are welcome, but if we can get our CGRA family to come out, it would mean the world to the team and to me as well! I want to make sure to say how proud I am of the current Royalty Team - Mr. CGRA John Beck, Ms. CGRA Paula Scougal and Miss CGRA Gia Diamante. You have done an incredible job all year and I am so proud to have each of you representing CGRA. If you see this talented group out and about, please thank them for all they've done for CGRA. And then make sure to mark your calendars for the Past Royalty Show that will be coming up on Friday, November 30th and then the CGRA Royalty Competition and A Night of Sharing on Saturday, December 1st. We are currently standing at 4 contestants running for the 2013 Royalty Team - Karl Wesley (Mr.), Miss Eryn (Ms.), Pauline Chavez (Ms.), and Katrina St. Andrews (Miss). For those of you who haven't heard, Stephen Grimes who was running for Mr. had to withdraw at this time due to his health. We will be looking for him next year, as he said he will be back and will compete again! Wishing Stephen the best from his CGRA Family! Thanks to everyone who has made my first term as Vice President so incredible! You are all such a great family and I am honored to be part of CGRA! Colorado Rides With Pride!

TreasurerTreasurer's report Now that the dust has settled somewhat, I would like to get you some preliminary numbers. The gate was down a couple of hundred dollars. The kitchen was up almost a grand. The bar was up eleven hundred. Tips were up three hundred and parking was up four hundred. These are rough income numbers but it gives you some idea of how we did. That is if we were able to keep expenses in line with last year, we should be better off than last year. I would like to thank my Financial Manger for the RMRR, Vince M, and his team of Stacey, Cindy and Quentin for their long hours and keeping everything in order. You did a great job. And congratulations to Stacey and Cindy for winning the volunteer buckles. David Hill

RoyaltyWhat a good, good weekend of rodeo we had! SIMPLY FABULOUS!!! And I think theere were a few who needed an aspirin Monday. Maybe even the hair of a dog. It was also nice to see royalty from other states helping us out!!!!!! --Thank-You Very Much-- I also want to thank all the people in any area who helped put on this rodeo - Excellent Job!! Thanks, John Beck
Howdy all my rodeo brothers and sisters, I hope all are having a great summer. I was telling my wife that being MS.CGRA this year I've been able to meet so many new friends from all walks of life. The people that are in all the different rodeo chapters have shown me that there still is kindness in this world. At our rodeo on Sunday since John's Diamond wasn't doing so well Cindy Cowen and friends of Texas allowed me to ride there horse Charley. These cowgirls had only seen me around, but they had no problem allowing me to use Charley. That is what real cowboys and cowgirls are like. I grew up loving horses and learned at a very young age to ride. I look forward to going to several more rodeo's this year and to represent CGRA to the fullest. I want to thank Rich for all the help you have been to me. MS. CGRA 2012
