PresidentHello Cowboys and Cowgirls, I know....... another report on Snow Queen, just what you needed. Hey it just wouldn't be right if I didn't chime in. I think I'll take a bit of a different approach though in my little cudos. What an absolutely wonderful night! To see everyone there. To have FUN again. This ladies and gentlemen is what it's all about. I don't mean the show itself, the two competitors or even all those who helped in performing and entertaining. What I do mean is everyone involved again in CGRA. Those who assisted to pull the night off without a hitch. Those who gave of their time to help raise funds for the Wayne Jakino Scholarship Fund and CGRA. You all were amazing. From the bottom of my heart....... THANKS! It's often said that you are only as good as those whom you choose to surround yourself with. With that being said, the next time you see Mr. Ken Pool, a.k.a. Betty Barrel Racer, please take a moment and say THANKS! It was his efforts in revitalizing the Snow Queen Contest that made the evening such a success. We raised an additional $1100 plus three individual $100 dollar donations that will have matching funds. Not only has Ken revitalized the Snow Queen, but is doing an absolutely awesome job as your Special Committee Chair for the Wayne Jakino Scholarship Fund. Personally Ken, I can't THANK YOU enough for stepping up to the plate and knocking one out of the park. It's efforts like yours that I hope will catch on with others. This is what CGRA is all about. I'll let Ken's e-mail stand for Thanking all of those involved in the evening and I won't be redundant. We have made a lot of progress in representing just who we, CGRA, are. To each of you returning and getting involved again, THANKS! For those of you still sitting on the sidelines..........Don't let the good times pass you by. We have a lot of FUN things ahead! Let's Ride
Vice PresidentThis has been a fast year so far. The Royalty Team has been off and running, not only hosting shows but being out in the Community making their presence felt and bringing awareness of CGRA and RMRR 30. I am very proud of John, Gia and Paula. Way to go Team!! You will be seeing emails on upcoming events being hosted by the Team. Please come out and support them, I know they and I would appreciate it!! Congratulations to the first contestants to be sashed for the 2013 Royalty Team - Miss Eryn and Karl Wesley. These two individuals held their contestant function and raised funds in order to be sashed at the March meeting. You will be seeing this duo out and about wearing their purple sashes and holding fundraisers for CGRA. There are currently two other individuals who will be hosting their contestant functions. On April 14th at Charlie's Denver will be the contestant function for Stephen Grimes who wants to run for the title of Mr. CGRA 2013. And then on May 19th, we will be attending the contestant function for Katrina St. Andrews who wants to run for the title of Miss CGRA 2013. We have a great group of people who are wanting to run for the 2013 CGRA Royalty Team! There are still a few individuals who have expressed interest in running for the 2013 Team so keep your eyes and ears open for upcoming announcements! This year we are also starting the Royalty Boot Camp. This will assist those individuals running for the Royalty titles to understand what is expected of them should they win a sash and what it takes to run for the title. I am currently working on study materials for the royalty contestants and a plan on what we will be covering with them. If you have any ideas (horsemanship classes, makeup and wardrobe ideas, performance tips, etc.) please contact me. I would love to have help from our past CGRA Royalty Teams as well as from any member of CGRA interested in making our Royalty Teams the team to beat when they compete at the IGRA level. CGRA has always had a great representation at IGRA competition and we will continue to do so! Also, remember that if you are interested in volunteering at Rocky Mountain Regional Rodeo 30 please contact me and I will add you to the list of volunteers! Remember we can't have a successful event if we do not have the support of our CGRA family in putting on the Rodeo! Colorado Rides With Pride!

Public RelationsWell gang, I saw robins for the first time the other day which only means that spring is here and summer is just around the corner. I hope you are all getting ready for a great summer line up of things happening. I know you will get tired of me saying this, but it's true RMRR 30 is just around the corner. With this being our 30th anniversary, I hope that we will see each and everyone of you out at Jeffco for Rodeo this year. If you were not at Charlie's for Snow Queen. I have to tell you, what a really great time we had. Betty Barrel Racer was wonderful. She pulled off an amazing night. I hope that the two contestants running for Snow Queen, had as much fun that night as we did watching them. Just a reminder that CGRA meets Friday April 6th Board meeting at 6 pm General membership is at 8 pm. Dan Rutledge

MembershipHey y'all. Things seem to be ramping up as we get closer to RMRR 30, but there's still day-to-day business that needs to get done, and that's what I've been focused on. We had a Membership Committee meeting on Sunday the 25th, but unfortunately "we" consisted of myself and CGRA President Robert Thurtell. Even though there were only two of us in attendance, it was still a great meeting. Some great ideas got kicked around, and hopefully you will be hearing about a few of them at the next meeting. I know you've seen a few emails about the increasing dues over the past few weeks, but I want to make sure everyone knows what the options are if you didn't get to read the By-Laws updates. The annual membership fee has increased from $30 to $40, but we now have multi-year memberships that come with discounted dues. If you renew and pay for 2-4 years at the same time, you only pay $35/year, and if you pay for five years up front, it's only $30/year. All of these options are available via ShopCGRA.com. We will have out a couple of sign-up sheets at the next few meetings for CGRA Ambassadors, Wrangler beer busts, and a couple of other fundraisers. Please consider signing up and joining in as we attempt to raise (and give away) $30,000 to charity in honor of our 30th rodeo. It's a doable goal, but it requires each and every one of us to get involved. As always, I am open for any comments, concerns and complaints. Don't hesitate to send them along to me. John Hill Rodeo Events / GymkhanaSo, we are one Gymkhana way from the summer run! So we will meet for the last time April 15 with Jeffco Mounted Search and Rescue. Then we will move to Adams County on May 20 at the 4-H Arena, after that we are back home at Jeffco in the Rodeo arena for three months on June 2, July 1, and August 4, and on September 8, and October 7, we are at Table View for the last two Gymkhanas. RoyaltyHowdy Rodeo Family, I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weather we have been having. I want to tell everyone that the show on May 19th is going to be great. Make sure to make time for our show, it's going to be amazing. Katrina has got the line-up of nothing but great performers. I will be going to Las Vegas rodeo and helping out behind the chutes where all the fun begins. Make sure to come out on the 31st of March for The Snow Queen show, I can't wait to see all the performers that night. It will be a lot of fun. The beer bust's start at 7pm and the shows start at 8pm all at Charlie's Denver. Until next time Karl Wesley and I, (Miss Eryn) are very honored to be sashed as the first two Contestants for CGRA 2013, and look forward to working hard for CGRA. We are hitting the ground running with our first show on the 26th of May. We understand that it is a very busy weekend for many people in our community with Oklahoma Rodeo, Salt Lake City Coronation and IML all happening on that weekend, however, we are working hard to make sure that while all of you are out there winning buckles, points and money, the fund raising efforts continue on the home front in order to make RMRR 30 that much more successful! We hope to see those of you that cannot make it to OKC out enjoying our BBQ, Bust and Show. We are very excited to have Jack Daniel's, OutFront, Charlie's and Toby Leigh Gallegos Photography all on board sponsoring the event!! The line-up is coming together quite nicely with some performers that you would not often see at a CGRA function, so we are hoping to be able to expose our fine Rodeo association to some great group of people. We are gearing up for some other exciting events as well and are doing our best to support other events happening around town! We are so excited to be working with a great team this year and also with other perspective candidates with the shows they have coming up as well. It is going to be a great year!!! Sincerely, Fun times are coming up with CGRA and we want to make sure that ALL Community Members know what is going on, and that's you folks!!!
