President

Hello RODEO guys and gals,

Yep that's it. Big capital letters on RODEO. It's that time. We are down to crossing t's and dotting i's. Okay so maybe a bit more than that. All I can tell you is RMRR 29 is one month away.

You may have been wanting to get involved and feeling now that I've said that, Oh Shit I missed helping out again. Well little cowpokes there is still time to "Get in the Truck". Oh yes, for sure. This is the hardest part. All of the last minute details. I ain't gonna beg but Please, Please, Pretty Please, Pretty Please with sugar on top, ask me or anyone on the Board, what can I do? I want in the Truck. Your involvement will do everything at this stage to help insure that RMRR 29 is a huge success that we all know it can be.

Our final General Membership meeting, prior to RMRR 29, is this Friday, June 10th at Charlie's. As always the Board Of Directors will meet at 6 followed by General Membership at 8:00pm. I hope you can come spend some time with us and hear all that is going on. I know you'll like what you hear.

Ill leave each of you with a final thought. In my travels this year to other rodeos, as the President of CGRA, I am often approached by other cowboys and cowgirls. Our conversations always end up with talk of RMRR. I mean, what would you expect, after all, I'm like a talking billboard. The one thing that I hear the most, from those heading to our rodeo, is that they love our people. They always express how much they love our hospitality. So as we approach RMRR29 and our guests from in state and out of state arrive let's all keep that on mind. Do what you can, go out of your way to make everyone feel welcomed. Don't kid yourself, they too want to... "Get in the Truck".

Vice President

Hello All

I would like to start by thanking the CGRA Royalty for their time and fund raising efforts so far this year. (Great Job) To all the members of Cgra and the community I'm looking for several more volunteers to help us out at our 29th Rodeo, remember this is CGRA's biggest fundraiser all year long and we as CGRA would like to be able to give to our Charity Partners this year, but it takes all of us to make this happen. So if you know anyone wanting to Volunteer please have them Email me or go to the CGRA Website and fill out the Volunteer application, which is what I prefer, that way we have all the information we need. The website address is www.cgra.ws and go to the rodeo page and click on Volunteer Form and fill it out. It will be sent to me. I would like to thank all of those that have volunteered already. Congrats to all of the Rodeo Contestants and royalty for representing CGRA proudly in Las Vegas at the Big Horn Rodeo. Also Cgra is looking for Contestants to run for next years CGRA Royalty Competition so if your interested or know of anyone please contact me at the Website above So I can get the Sashes ordered for you.

I'm looking for volunteers in the Midway area doing Script sales and a few floaters if possible on Saturday & Sunday. Remember this is our biggest fundraiser that helps Cgra give back to our community. We also could use 3 people on Friday at the Barrel Race to set barrels up when needed, So if you and all our members could help me this would be greatly appreciated. Please email me

Sincerely
Clyde Mitter

Membership

Those with memberships expiring 30 June, 2011...
Email reminders for your renewal are rolling. Get you renewals processed BEFORE RMRR29!

REMEMBER:

  1. All memberships are based on calendar year quarters instead of months. This translates to just four renewal dates per year- March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.
  2. Membership cards (for those who wish them) and reminder emails should make it easier for everyone to renew their membership when due. Members will be DEACTIVATED in the database within 10 days of expiration if they have not renewed. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!
  3. CGRA offers limited Junior memberships at a reduced annual fee of $12. This is ONLY for those under the age of 18 - with parental approval, of course.

Please take a moment and make sure your membership is up-to-date. Prompt renewals are always greatly appreciated and be sure to let me know if you have any name, address, phone or email changes. Do check your emails closely for those renewal reminders. For those of you needing to renew end of JUNE, you have started hearing from me already.

Remember, staying on "Active" status is imperative for rodeo event registration - AND I HAVE MEMBERSHIP CARDS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS ONE! If I don't run into you at our meetings and events, contact me and I'll snail mail one to you. Not only is it a great reminder for your renewal date, but a shopping trip to Lancaster's with your card will net you a 10% discount.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or updates... and, as always, Membership Applications/Renewal forms are available through the website. Those can be snail mailed to me at:

Rodeo Events

CGRA's RODEO CAMP DAY - SATURDAY, JUNE 4

The weather was great. The arena was primed. The steers were just about perfect. Our numbers were small; but, we had tons of fun and got in some great practice. A HUGE "THANK YOU" to everyone who came out and helped - from the admin staff to the chute crew to the instructors to the grill chefs to the participants - including the 'rookies'. And I think we're going to see some new faces trying rough stock and roping this year @ RMRR29.

It's "that thing they call rodeo". You go, guys!

As a reminder, here's our remaining gymkhana dates this year:
GYMKHANA DATES: July 31 and October 2.

The chart highlighting the standing rule changes for our gymkhanas can be found below for your reference.

By the way, this is a new BOD hat for me this year, so please feel free to share any thoughts, ideas or even criticisms you might have. After all, this is YOUR organization. Contact me here

Now get your arse in the truck!

Entertainment

Entertainment News for June 2011

Well its almost Rodeo time. And things are running just about as I figured, Slowly.

I've only received 6 applications for entertainment at rodeo. I have heard from several others who plan on being at rodeo. So hopefully they will be at registration on Friday night.

The price for james Allen Clark which I was told was rather pricey. Seems not to be so. I am still in the process of talking with him and getting some help in sponsoring his hotel and rental car.

All those who would like to carry a flag during grand entry, Please let me know.

Just a reminder "Get in the Truck."

Royalty

Hello! CGRA

May was one heck of a month!!! I just don't know where to start, I mean do I start with the great show we had on May 7th or do I start with the Big Horn Rodeo in Vegas?? Both were such great times, so you see my dilemma!

Okay lets start with the show! On May 7th, I hosted a show at Charlie's where we raised $630 benefiting P.A.W.S. CO. I was so blessed with so many of the past Royalty that came out to support the show!! Thank you to-- Janet Jenkins, Gia Diamonte, Clyde Mitter, Rich Valdez, Ken Pool, Tommy Channel, and John Beck!!!! You all pulled together and helped out without even being asked, THANK YOU!!! And a special thanks to Rich and Aunt Ida for Emcee the show! And how can I forget all the great entertainers we had!!! I know I could not do this with out you, so it warms my heart for your support!

Now for Big Horn Rodeo in Vegas, lets just say it changed my life!!! It was the first rodeo I have every competed in (I LOVED IT!!). I competed in Barrels. And it was a learning experience, I now know I need a pair of shin guards!!!! I knocked over so many barrels you'd think I was playing hockey, checking people on there butts! In one run I even had a hat trick!!!! Well in short, Saturday I got a broken pattern and Sunday I have no clue, I just know I got a time!!! Man I want to go back! Thanks to all who gave me words of encouragement and a special thanks to Steph Curtis for the use of "Spirit"!!

I am so ready for RMRR 29, I plan on competing in 3 events, Barrels, Calf Roping on Foot, and Goat Dressing. Thank you CGRA and IGRA for giving me something to look forward too. Next year, more rodeos and just maybe earning enough points for FINALS!!! Man I love my new LIFE!! So Get In The Truck with me and Lets Rodeo!!!!

HUGS!!!
