The categories had changed to All-Around Cowboy, All-Around Cowgirls and Ms. Dusty Spurs. More women got involved at all levels including competition.

The Mr & Ms National Reno Gay Rodeo contest went national with feeder contests from the cities that had participated in the rodeos.

Fresno, California and Utah had presented some of the top contenders for the Mr., Ms., and Miss titles. Gay rodeo, and the parties surrounding the event, had gained a great foothold in America.
