14th IGRA Finals Rodeo 2000
Thom has worked as a professional in the fields of marketing, public relations, planning and development for the past 20 years at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, including the University Hospital, Children's Hospital of New Mexico and the Cancer Research & Treatment Center. He has also served as a volunteer in these areas for such organizations as the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Chorus, New Mexico Diabetes Association, New Mexico AIDS Foundation, New Mexico Arts & Crafts Fair, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Albuquerque, and of course with IGRA. He has served as a consultant to Planned Parenthood of the Rio Grande, the Public Health Service-AIDS/HIV Bureau and the New Mexico AIDS Planning Council in the areas of strategic planning and marketing. Thorn has also published on the subject of healthcare design and construction for the American Hospital Association. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Within IGRA, he has served as a rodeo director for two regional rodeos and the IGRA Finals Rodeo in 1996, a contestant, PR Spokesperson and Marketing Chairman from 1997-2000 and an IGRA judge since 1997.
Thom has an undergraduate degree and an MBA from the University of New Mexico. He is currently working as the Executive Director of the Student Health and Counseling Center at California State University at Fullerton. Born and raised in southern New Mexico, he now lives in Long Beach, CA, but New Mexico is still "home"!
