Welcome.
It is with great pride and honor to be chosen to be the Grand Marshall for Rocky Mountain Regional Rodeo XV.
Congratulations on 15 years of excellence in hosting the oldest rodeo on the IGRA circuit, and one of the largest Mile High Events of the year! Little did I realize 12 years ago, when I pulled into Denver with my clothes and horses for a rodeo, that CGRA would become such an important part of my life. I make Denver my home and joined one of the strongest and involved associations on the circuit. Over the years I have served on many committees, as a board member, and as MISS CGRA 1978/88. Later I had the privilege to represent Colorado at the International Gay Rodeo, where I was crowned MISS IGRA 1988/1989.
Good luck to all contestants at this weekend's rodeo. When I was competing on the circuit, I entered 11 of the 13 events. I know what a thrill it is to sit on the back of a Bronc waiting for the chute to open, being drug around the arena by a steer, or to win your first rodeo belt buckle. The sport of rodeo and western lifestyle is truly what it is all about.
Thank you Mile High Chapter of the Colorado Gay Rodeo Association for all the years of love an support. You have my heart... I am looking forward to a fun, safe Rodeo and to welcoming our out of state guest to the beautiful state of Colorado.
Walk in peace,
Buddy Sojourner
