Dec. 30, 1967- July 17, 1996
AGRA-Phoenix Chapter members have chosen to dedicate this rodeo/program to the memory of one of our favorite country western/rodeo entertainers, Sid Spencer.
Sid, an Oklahoma resident, has entertained us on the IGRA rodeo circuit for several years. A caring and loving person, he almost always said "YES" when asked to perform (as long as his busy schedule would let him). In fact, he died of HIV complications while in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to perform for their rodeo last July. One of Sid's favorite Bible verses was "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes." Psalm 119:71. He made a number of album releases on cassette and CDs. These will allow us to continue to enjoy his melodious voice even though he is now "singing with angels in heaven".
He was described in his eulogy as "Country Gentleman, Country Singer and Songwriter, Loved the world over". Close friends and family said they couldn't think of any more fitting description.
Both those of us who knew you well and those who only heard you sing, certainly will not forget how you touched our lives in your short life. Sid, we certainly will miss hearing your voice at our rodeos and seeing your smiling face. KEEP ON SINGING WITH THE ANGELS!
